The cooling system is filled with a coolant of 40% water and cooling additive. This mixture not only provides necessary protection from freezing -25 degrees C up to but protects, above all, light metal components in the cooling system against corrosion. In addition, it prevents the formation of scale and significantly increases the boiling point of the coolant. Therefore, coolant concentration should not be minimized by adding water in hot weather or in warm countries. Percentage additive must be at least 40%, maximum 60%.

If it is necessary for climatic reasons greater frost protection can increase the addition of G12, but only up to 60% (frost protection is reduced again and, in addition, the cooling effect shrinks).

Loss of coolant

Loss of coolant is caused by leaks in the system. In this case, the system should be checked at a service station. It is not enough only to fill with liquid cooling. Sealed systems, losses may occur due to climate system. The liquid will boil and will be pushing out the cooling system.

Coolant additive

You can only use additive G 12 (glycol-based antifreeze with corrosion protection additives) or an addition. The use of unsuitable additives in the coolant can negatively influence above all corrosion protection effect. Corrosion that arises can lead to loss of coolant and, as a result, severe damage to the engine.

Careful! Coolant and additives are harmful to health! This is why additives are held in the original vessel and keep out of reach of children. If the coolant should be drained from the system, it will retrieve and store properly.

Coolant, once leaked from the engine, under normal circumstances should not be reused, but must be removed in accordance with environmental protection. Checking the coolant before carrying out work on the engine or in the engine compartment, observe and follow all the warnings above. The correct coolant is important for the proper functioning of the cooling system. Therefore, regulatory level must be checked.

The colant level can be checked correctly only when the engine is off. To check the coolant it is not necessary to remove the cap because it is transparent. Coolant should be found when the engine is cold, between the maximum and minimum marks of the container. When the engine is warm you can to find and a little above the mark. Adding coolant. Careful! The cap should not be opened when the engine is hot – danger of scalding, the cooling system is under pressure!

For filling, use only new coolant. First turn off the engine and let it cool. Then cover the cap with a cloth and loosen the cap to the left with caution. If you do not exit at the disposal additive G12 in principle should not enter any other additive. In this case using only water and mix the correct proportion was established again as soon as possible with appropriate additive. At large coolant loss supplement is made only when the engine is cold to avoid engine damage.

Do not add over mark: The excess coolant heaters will be pushed outside cooling system pressure valve in the lid! Screw tight lid the again. Important note: Under no circumstances G 12 (purple) should be mixed with other additives G 11 and G 12 (red). G12 expansion tank is recognized by the color purple. If the fluid in the expansion tank is brown, G 12 has been mixed with other additives! In this case the coolant should really be changed! Otherwise, malfunctions or engine damage can occur.
